Spiritual relationship help & Self-love Accept that a certain amount of disapproval is inevitable --a key secret to understanding your worth. Leaders throughout history experienced the disapproval of others: Christ, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. were targets of hatred. Why? They were value driven and stood firmly in their beliefs. You’ve heard their stories. They peacefully fought against injustice. But many people disapproved of them. These teachers of love were the recipients of hatred. Christ was crucified. Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. were assassinated. Nelson Mandela spent twenty-seven years in prison. The Dalai Lama was exiled from his homeland. The message? A certain amount of disapproval is inevitable. Expecting everyone to like and approve of us all the time is unrealistic. Don’t give another person power over you Many of our most celebrated leaders who suffered injustice could have avoided their fate but they chose not to. Why? They would not allow their enemies to have power over them. They stayed focused on their beliefs and refused to give in to the disapproval of their enemies. Authentic power is grace, God’s power, flowing through you. Your worth is not affected by the opinions of others.
