You are special to God
Part of overcoming fear is giving up the fight to prove how special we are. When we seek to be more special, to be better and of greater value, we put ourselves at the center of the world. It is freeing when we no longer feel the need to prove we are better than those with whom we share this earth, but know we are special to the One who created it.
You are special to God, regardless of how special the world may or may not think you are. No matter what issues you are struggling with, no matter what you may or may not have accomplished, no matter what indiscretions lurk in your past, you matter to your Creator. Being better than others is not what makes you special. You are special because you are His.
