Spiritual relationship help & Self-love The only thing you need to to deal with the thorn in your side The Apostle Paul had what he referred to as a thorn in his flesh. Paul never revealed the specifics of his ailment, but he divulged its purpose: “to torment me” and “to keep me from becoming conceited.” Paul begged to have the thorn removed, but God told him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”[v] It would have been easy for the prolific author of much of the New Testament to become arrogant and forget about his need for God. The Lord wanted Paul, not puffed up, but on bended knee—and mindful of his dependence on God. So God added a thorn to the mix.
