Spiritual relationship help & Self-Love How to surrender control The key is to surrender control, not to another person, but to God. God is our rescuer. When you surrender control, you “let go and let God” and “cast all your anxiety on him.”[i] You allow yourself to be drawn into grace through a personal relationship with God. You take off the mask and give up the fight of self-sufficiency for the promise of peace. Surrender is accepting God’s will and yielding our will to His. Surrender involves trusting God without knowing the details of His plan. Surrender does not mean you avoid personal responsibility, give up, stay in bed all day, or become a doormat. Nor does it mean you allow another person to control you. Establish limits and resolve conflicts, but in love.
