Self-Love
Perfect love
Meister Eckhart, a Dominican mystic of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, said all of nature seeks the path on which God might be found. We are spiritual beings. Our hearts keep yearning until we journey into a relationship with God.
Living spiritually is more than practicing good values. Spirituality is connectedness with the divine. It is being willing to enter into a relationship with God and trust in His goodness.
John, the disciple, taught, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.”[iii] God is the source of perfect love. Love triumphs over fear in moments when we experience divine intimacy and trust in God’s perfect love.
Love is not a means to an end, not a way to manipulate life toward happiness. Love is the end itself. We choose love for love’s sake, not because of moral obligation, but as the response of a transformed heart.
