Unveil your graceful gifts
When a daffodil bulb is planted, the bulb’s mission is to produce a daffodil, not a tulip. If the bulb devoted its energy to trying to become a tulip, it would never succeed. Nor would it realize its natural beauty as a daffodil.
You were born with incredible gifts. The book of Romans teaches, “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.”[i] These gifts are yours to contribute to humanity.
Here’s the best part. Whatever your special gifts are, you love to use them! When you are doing what you are born to do, you experience a deep sense of joy, fulfillment, and meaning.
Are you a daffodil or a tulip? Are you called to enforce the law or teach the law? Are you a visionary of the big picture or are you a master at carrying out the details? One mother opened a health food store after she saved her child’s life with a unique diet and vitamin therapy. A woman with a passion for music made it her mission to teach piano and voice to inner-city children. A friend who has always loved arts and crafts turned her passion into a “hobby that pays.” Two women who liked to shop developed a multimillion-dollar business shopping and preparing gift baskets for movie stars such as Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Eddie Murphy, and Elton John.
