Self-Love

Who Me? Yes, You.
The reason you are of value and worth.

After I taught one of the first Creating Loving Relationships classes, a woman approached me with a pen and paper in hand.

“I want to write down something you said,” she remarked. I had mentioned a few of my favorite quotes during the class. One by one I repeated them.

“You mean the one about . . .”

“No, not that,” she answered.

“You mean this one . . .?” I asked.

“No,” she replied.

“Was it the one about . . .?”

“No.”

Puzzled, I racked my brain. The only other person left to quote was . . . no, it couldn’t be. The person she was seeking to quote could not possibly be me.  But it was. She wanted to write down something I had said. As I repeated the quotes of the gurus, it never crossed my mind that the words this kind lady sought were my own. I did not understand her comment was directed toward me.

Sometimes it is hard to comprehend the truth of some profound words that are also directed toward me—and you: God loves you.

Allow me to repeat it in case you missed it: God loves you.

Who me?

Yes, you.

We have all heard the words God loves you. It is another matter to grasp their magnitude. It is easier to comprehend you in the plural sense, when it is directed to all of humanity. But in this case, you is singular.

God loves you.

You.

YOU!
